The new lounges are progressing well!

Construction of the new lounges on the top deck of the Red Falcon is making good progress, with just a few panels left to complete the roof.

Work on the first new custom built Steam Cafe Bar has been started this week. There's a new product range launching when the Falcon re-enters service, watch this space! For now here's some pics of the new bar going in;

The roof is on!

The team have been busy this week getting the new roof on the new Southampton (or North) lounge of the Red Falcon.

They have also made good progress with the new Isle of Wight (or South) lounge dropping in the new wall panels in preparation for the roof.

Despite the storms, some great progress has been made on the new look Red Falcon this week. 

The new lounge at the Southampton end is taking shape.

The aircon, cabling and new fixtures have started to be fitted inside.

The walls are going up...

The walls and framework for the new top lounge at the Southampton end of the Red Falcon have started to go up, here are some pictures;

The  team have started constructing the framework for the new seating on board the new look Red Falcon, at least they aren't effected by the weather inside!!

Air conditioning anyone?

The main passenger areas in the new look Red Falcon will all be air conditioned making it a cosy and comfortable place to be in the winter or cool and refreshing in the summer!!

Today the first air con units started going in, here's some pics (please excuse the mess!);

Once the wind had dropped this morning we were able to start getting some of the framework in place for the new passenger lounge at the Southampton end of the Red Falcon.

The end of week 2!

The project team have made good progress with the Red Falcon over the last week despite the atrocious weather.

The top deck has been strip back and the new railings have been added.

The flooring, ceiling and counters have been stripped out of ReFuel in preparation for the new fittings.

The lounge is empty...

Work to remove fittings and floor coverings from the Red Falcon is making good progress. Once complete the team will be working on the ceiling/deck head panels next before they can completely transform the interior.

A clear top deck...

Work started earlier this week to completely strip back the whole of the current top passenger deck (Deck A) on the Red Falcon including removing the railings and all the fittings.

There goes the conservatory...

Work over the weekend also included demolishing the top deck conservatory and removing all the seating in preparation for a re-surface and the new air-conditioned lounge.

Let the demolition commence...

Work began over the weekend to remove all the furniture and flooring from B Deck, the main passenger lounge, as you can see from the picture below they have made good progress!
